Solaris is a unix variant which is kind of similar to DOS. You can create a boot disk, and then go into the directory /etc.
There is a file there called "shadow". Use the built in text editor vi to edit it. Delete the line with the root password on it. Save, and reboot.
When you restart, I believe it should prompt you for a new password.
Why thanks! I found a model that was a step down selling for parts on ebay it sold for $300, only thing close I could find. I will try the boot disk later and let you know how it goes.
