    Large Mainframe/server break down

Just picked up this Silicon Graphics Onyx2 rack. About 6' tall, 3' deep and 2' wide. Weight around 900 pounds. I was quite exicted to get this, as I never scrapped anything like this before.

It was on the second floor, had to break down where it was. The seller was nice enough the help with the disassembly. This cost $500,000 when new around 1998-2000!
Overall I'm happy, around 110 lbs of boards, about 5-6 lbs RAM, etc. Paid $200, easy $500+ in scrap value. Shown are two of the 3 power supplies, the bigger one is the size of a PC tower! On the right of the same picture is the hard drive raid array, about the size of a large rackmount server. Also shown is one of the 4 CPU boards, each with 2 CPU's. Those RAM sticks are about 8" long. As a bonus the frame is mostly extruded aluminum, probably close to 100 lbs.
