At 5 cents a pound, ABS/PC isn't worth the time from a profit standpoint. For one, it takes up a lot of warehouse space. Secondly, it doesn't weigh very much for the space it occupies. (One of our trucks can haul 6 gaylords and the other can haul 8) And finally, for $90-$100 a load, it barely pays for the fuel and buys a value meal lunch, and I am lucky because it is only a 20 mile trip for us. However, it does keep it out of the land fill.
The reason I am told that ABS/PC doesn't pay much is because it contains a fire retardant which makes it VERY difficult to reuse. Couple that with all the little metal inserts and clips and it is a real pain for them to deal with.
