    Tv tubes

    I broke them open and thers was this flaky stuff in the front. I have heard it is mercury and phosphorous. Which is it? Are these hazordous?

    About 6 items in the CRT's best to not break them open! And no need to once you learn how to take one apart...

    Crt's are considered hazardous waste here in Massachusetts.

    Dude, you really should read prio post. Don't smash and grab when it comes to tv tubes. Take the copper, ferrite, wires, and aluminum. Put it back neatly but don't break it. If you start growing a third testicle, you will know why.

    Trust me. I've dealt with hundreds of thousands of CRT tubes. I've inhaled my share of that nastyness. Not worth it one bit.

    Oh, my third testicle is HUGE, by the way.
