I've had quite a few people give me old battery powered drills, flash lights and such tried searching the forums for answers but my question is what to do with them? Anyone have anything they do in particular?

well what I do with them is simply I pull the motors out and put the ni-cad batterys in with my batteries to recycle them . unless there a really good brand (dewalt,snap-on,millwakee) I don't think there is much resale value
I have been wondering the same thing.. I pick up a box of dead power tools a few month ago around 80-110 lbs.
Finally feeling well enough to start in on my pile in the garage of around 2000-3000 lbs of computers and such
Yard near me will pay 5 cents a lb...
So the obvious answer is to take em apart...
Cut the cords on the non battery powered ones...I just throw em w shred after that..not much in em
I just throw all power tools in with electric motors. Check with your yard if they will buy them as electric motors. Why take the time to brake them down if you don't have to?
I sell power tools as electric motors also. ( hand held) .
Anything like that should go as electric motors...I sell everything from power tools (after cutting any cords of course) to vavuum cleaners (after removing all plastic pieces I can sell as replacements on ebay)...even computer fans as electric motors.
