    What is it?

So I got a bunch of telecom boards and there were a few of these in the box:

What I'm wondering is what those boxes are? I pulled one off the board and it was basically a sealed metal box with 9-10 pegs on the bottom soldered to the board. I'm just wondering if there's anything of value in there, or if I were to smash it open myself, if its safe to do so or if I'm risking electrocution or something.

    Thanks

Dont know about the boxes, but the red dip switches should have gold plated silver balls in them.

Learn something new every time I log on. Thanks brass i don't get these a lot but i have a nice little collection of gold balls mostly from xbox 360 motherboards. The only question i have is it really silver underneath the gold plating?
