They will be either pentium 4/pentium 4 ht, or celeron. They did not have dual core cpu's until the GX520.

I wouldn't resale unless it's a Core2Duo or better, P4 or Celeron etc would go to the scrap pile.

If you are able to install an OS and ensure at least a 40-80gb HDD you will clear about 35.00 a unit on ebay or CL. IF they are bare bones scrap for sure. Only way those move usually is if they are ready to go. There are some optiplex buyers out there that pay higher than scrap for the base units complete. Good luck!

Yes you ALAWAYS put together a complete unit and try to sell on ebay for 7 days...ALWAYS. The craziest stuff sells on there. Also do a quick search for the model number and parts...again peopke buy stuff cheap but more than scrap value to keep an old system going.

We need to have a sticky post about ALWAYS check anything that works or solid state stuff like cell phones on ebaybefore scrapping. This question seems to come up all the time and 5 min on there will tell you the answer to scrap or not to.

picked up 2 dell sc1420 servers that work. about 30 gx270s and gx280s, and about 18 gx320? i believe thbats what they are. all "work" supposedley. only checked the two servers so far. gonna try to trade some working units for scrap at a few of my IT shops. i dont deal with ebay, and need a quick turn around i hate sitting on stuff unless its worth good money. on the bright side, made a new personal record. fit 40 towers, 7 lcd monitors and a few mobos and power supplies in a dodge neon with me and a passenger
