I agree with redcrossnj that scrap yards are great to deal with a large diverse flow of material to be had. beats going to search for the stuff
Contacted the other yard today. They pay a flat rate. shred for towers. 9.5 cents per pound. That leave me more room than the other place if they like the idea. I dont see why they wouldnt. All the non ferrous and cases would be sold back to them so its like getting the computers stripped at super low cost. The Cost being what they would pay me to buy it. Cant remember if I said that in another post or not lol
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

some yards are workable and some make it very tight and make your profit margins very tight. I personally buy from a local yard and I have a good thing going personally its my main business plan.
Both are smaller family owned yards.
Those are the best in my opinion. Glad to see it's coming together for ya Jord. An if you do manage to buy from either one, remember to bring some water/beverages/pizza/something as a thank you. You'll win points with the workers if not management. Never know those guys may start sticking things to the side for ya. Couple threads out there on this to. lol. We got a thread for everything!
Good luck an keep us updated, ya know we're rooting for ya.

and can buy anything out of the pile . take parts apart and what not
"We got a thread for everything!" Sirscrapalot
Yes we do in one form or another
i've been running into cord cutters like crazy this week. just means my insulated cord bin is a little light. I should be getting a few boxes of mother boads and other striped out stuff back from my computer guy next week. i should drive up to barrie and cash in a few boxes check that place out.
Yeah give em a shot. I think they are on John St. Id call them up first see what the price is just to double check. If you have 100lbs+ he can do better than 2.50 per pound.
And guys don't forget the mom/pop trash companies, I have one that I buy good electronics from as they find it in their trucks.
I'm helping them stay compliant and paying them a little more than shred price for them.

I live in the mountains and just about everyone has to haul off all of their trash and waste, to either the dump or a small garbage transfer station (transfer stations are only permitted to accept household garbage). There are a couple of mom and pop trash removal companies though. Thanks Mechanic for that lil reminder. I overlooked that angle entirely. I'm finding out that my procurement methods are somewhat limited compared to an area with a larger population.
