You can sulk about it, but the real strategy is volume, volume, volume.
It'll rise when the smoke and mirror show on Wall Street is shown to be the parlour trick that it is..., meanwhile the smart money is buying the decline of metals. Hold as much as you can afford to. JMO
It typically rises right after I sell a nice load of ewaste. So I'll let everyone know when I sell then wait a week or two and it usually goes up.
not until the banksters get rid of all there worthless paper gold.

Short answer.....If I knew that, I wouldn't be here chatting with you fine folks.
It is going to do what it is going to do. There are all kinds of reasons that it will rebound, and probably just as many that it will tank further. Much more of a drop and some mines will shut down decreasing the flow of new gold. Not that the amount they produce will effect the price. Then at about 1050 or so another batch of mines will shut down. Again, not affecting the supply enough.
It all pretty much depends on the perception of the economy. However, if things really picked up, and the dollar strengthens, sending gold down, there is also the argument that increased production of electronics may prop up the price as well.
Basically. I have no clue.
I have however started to swing my collecting to a pick up for free basis rather than buying 1 or 2 computers from people on Craig's list for $4 each.

My two cents....Gold does not have any less intrinsic value than the US Dollar does. In that regard we can price it relative to the Fed’s actions and to the fear of systemic risk to get an assessment of its true value.
With that in mind, today Gold is clearly undervalued relative the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet. Since the Crash hit in 2008, the price of Gold has been very closely correlated to the Fed’s balance sheet expansion. Put another way, the more money the Fed printed, the higher the price of Gold went. Gold did become overextended relative to the Fed’s balance sheet in 2011 when it entered a bubble with Silver. However, with the Fed now printing some $85 billion per month, the precious metal is now significantly undervalued relative to the Fed’s balance sheet. We should be north of $1800 but it is being manipulated lower. Paper gold will die the hedgers are buying physical like there is no tomorrow to prevent a complete collapse when the dollar goes bye-bye as the worlds reserve currency. The imf and world banks float the idea of special drawing rights and using a basket of currencies to dictate global trade. The BRICS are currently backdooring as many deals that can be had to cut the dollar out of their high value transactions. Its going to be a wild ride but if history rhymes we will see a major conflict to shore up that support for the dollar.
In the meantime, I was reading an "expert's" opinion today that gold will drop to $700.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
Hey, Mick, that reminds me of a famous manager of mutual funds (I can't remember his name). When asked what's the lowest a certain fund could fall to, he replied something like, "All the way down to zero."
If you want a no B.S. guy who knows probably more about gold than anyone in the U.S. and how it relates in the economy you should check out a guy named Peter Schiff. Just browse his Fb page for 10 minutes.. he speaks the truth.. the very unpopular with the "big wigs and gov't officials" truth!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
I think it will slowly drop over the next couple years until the next bubble bursts. There are too many suckers in other investments to worry about gold.
Yeah, I guess as noted above now is the time to hoard until we manage to pull up from the nosedive we're in.. Have a great day!
Is there ever really a "Bottom"? It fluctuates constantly so instead of stressing about it buy accordingly with a buffer built in and sell frequently in order to stay in that margin that is evaluated on a regular basis. And as always, diversify...I don't really do a whole lot of computers because it just doesn't capture my attention like other things, but they are are part of the grand scheme of things.
