You're wasting your time there Mud. You don't even know what's inside of it, what it's made of. He does, and IF he doesn't, the whole time you're knockin about on it, he's certainly studying into it too, but my guess is, he already knows what is, or isn't there. By the time he agrees to let you have it "cheap", before you ever see it run or look inside, there won't be much to see. Just my opinion

True that! I just got an HP X800. It has the potential to be a several thousand dollar machine. But this one is only a $600 or so machine. It all depends on what it was ordered with. My machine has the capacity for 96gb of RAM. Yes, 96gb. However, mine has just 6gb in it. It also has the capacity for 4 terabytes of hard drive, but this one had none, and I have now installed a 200gb hard drive. It also has the space for 2 6 core CPUs, however, it only has one.
See what I am getting at? Every machine is sold separately with basic components, and the upgrades are added.
You will need to get exact specs on that machine before going further.

I think he hit the nail on the head there....

You can see there is some crazy potential, but the reality is the it could have 1 processor, very little ram, ect...
You really should have looked at what is in the machine before you even tried to talk him down.
On a separate note, I haven't found ANY superdomes that have sold on Ebay (which is what counts). The few parts that did sell were certainly "newer".
I could find a lot of more profitable things to do with 400.00.
