    Kudo's to e-scrappers

I want to congratulate the e-scrappers on this forum. Not only are your efforts environmentally friendly, they are labor intensive.

I am not into electronic recycling, but spend a great deal of time reading about your chosen endeavor. Originally it was all Greek to me and now I can honestly say it is more like pig-Latin. I know I could not do it, I do not have the patience and my hands are to big. I like to break things, not dismantle them.

My interest in this part of the profession was strong enough that I contacted PC Scrapper last week and went to visit his warehouse. The education he gave me was a steep learning curve for someone that scraps machinery. For most the learning curve could be related to a stair case, mine was related to an inverted ladder. The amount of information and knowledge required to be successful in this business is light years beyond the ferrous market. PC is a very knowledgeable individual and because of this, very successful. It is one thing to read about it on the forum and another to have someone give you a guided tour and explain in detail what makes an e-scraper successful.

I respect the electronic scrappers and understand why most individuals could not jump into the business without taking baby steps. I really like the idea you can work inside, you are not fighting equipment in the cold, and batteries on cordless tools last longer than ten minutes. If I was smarter, maybe I could do it. At least now I cut wire and separate other non-furious metals because of what I learned on this site. I haul them home and during blizzards prepare them. Even bought a 100 lawnmowers to break down this winter. Have to decide what will go as aluminum breakage verses cast. Might have my first load this spring.

Good Luck to all of you in the New Year.

group similar engines together if you have that many mowers. then you can just go down the line taking out the same bolts on the same motors.

Might just think it thru the easy way, as in pull the alum. heads only as it's quick. Check the decks for cast alum. also. If you have enough blades, they could go as "short iron" or prepared.

thinking of lawn mowers i save all the blades to sell as used and after a month cycle put them in the scrap pile for later and this summers end i had almost 1400lbs of blades which i was going to take in all loaded up in the truck squatting down a bit and had a guy pull up to drop stuff off and looked at what i was doing and offered me a 50cents each for them delivered about 15miles away and it made my day

until i found this forum I scrapped all electronics as shred..........Granted now I have junk electronics everywhere (backyard, storage buildings, basements, etc.....)........Ewaste is very time consuming and tedious but the payoff in my opinion is worth the storage if you have the patience

Patriot your right these guys are smart and most on the forum seem to be very nice. You said if you were smarter you could do it.

Im a dropout, recovering addict and am doing a million plus a year. No loans no help no advice. I just learned from the few people I sold too and started to do what they did to get rich. Sometimes it overwhelming. I dont know business or how to make plans and board room meetings but I can use my hands and learn from anyone. Just do it. Easier said than done. You dont have to be out in the cold with a drill. In the scrap business up here in NE its cool and not always easy.

If your repairing mowers and can put a good edge on that many blades you can do e scrap as good or better than most of us if you think you can. Aaron.

I first off like to say Thanks Mike for coming and visiting Me, he a stand up guy, He tells life as it's no bull**** as I've seen by others, We had good covnersation and I don't mind sharing my ideas and how the best things to go about, and don't mind listening to maybe he might know a bit more then I do in some areas.. one thing he did drool on was My break down table.... He was amazed as how well it was put together, and I worked the pissed out of that table, great for catching all the screws and so forth, and of course your lost bits, but thats alright, When time come to do a clean up, I pull of the lithium batteries out of it and along any gold stuff, and my bits,

Mike is a well educated person, He smart and never really dabbled in the area that I've done, I done it for several years from a small behind the shop in a shed to bedhind my store to under my computer store, but since I've moved it was time to up my space make it taller and bigger, basically went for a 1000 sq ft of storage to over 10000 squre feet of storage from top to bottom, cuzz Now I can doulbe and tripple stack my boxes,

I like to hoard, and store and seperate and break it down as far as I can go, it makes it easier to refine at the end or sell the commondity stuff with ease and siplicity,

I don't mind sharing information, with others, Its the way that we all learn, We all learned from someone somehow and I'm glad Mike came down, it was a bit chilly but We had a good time talking,

Thanks Mike and Look forward to answering any questions you may have in the future.
