Are there any buyers of CPU, PS fans?

My oldest daughter(15 y/o) has been taking older `puters apart for well over a year. Not a lot of work right now because of school. Anyway, she takes them ALL the way down, even takes the HD`s completely apart. I`ve seen on here buyers for the memory, cards, mobo`s & all but Not, the electric fans?!? I`m just guessing, but figure shes got over 100! We`re guessing that shes taken at least 30 computers apart, maybe even more. She`s made some pretty good money selling the metal at our local scrap yard, sad to say though, EPA shut them down. I`ll keep this short....Are there any buyers for the fans??? Any info/advice is much appreciated!!!....GAS

If she is that into breaking things down then break the plastic off the fans and then you can sell to a scrap yard for copper motor price. she will make more money with the plastic removed and sold as an electric motor. I get around .25 to $.30/# for them. My yard takes them with plastic for something like $.15/#.

I mix them in with my motors. They go for around 15- .20 a LB depending on who the scale guy is.

I was curious the other week about these myself. Out of five that i had layin around one was listed on ebay for about 10 bucks, the others were listed for about 4... Prob not worth it to ship in my opinion, but then again, people sell stuff on there for a dollar. YMMV.

The issue will totally be the age of said fan on resale market...I can buy REALLY good computer fans for like $5-8 each...so I would never buy a used one as they are basically a dine a dozen.

Sell as electric moto and get on with it...bigger paydays...like testing hard rives and selling those or ram and cpu...worth far more $$$...and I sell everything on ebay mind you.

I sell mine as electric moters, whole(with the plastic on) for .34#. It will depend on the scrap yard that you use. I sell mine to a core buyer.
