Anyone thought of taking the bales and / or loose plastic to build structures such as a shed or lean to?
I'm considering using a load of printer paper feed trays I have left over from a bad investment to tile the roof of a structure on my allotment.
They fit and overlap quite nicely

I have actually taken pickup loads plastic and cardboard to the local college and dumped them into their big recycling dumpsters outside of the dorms a few times just to keep my pile manageable.
In my town we are spoiled. we have the Town, who picks up the recyclables and a privately owned garbage company who picks up all the rest. The well known unspoken rule is basically. "if it fits in the can, they will take it" But I too would like to do something nice for our now ever-warming-environment. Will be watching this post closely.

Unfortunately the price of lower grade plastic (from electronics). Is at an all time low. I am selling it, but not at the rate I have been for the last 5 years. Without the material being baled, not many people will even look at it.

I was going to turn mine onto fuel by heating it and pyrolisis it into liquid.
Then I found out that only two sorts of plastic will turn into only liquid, some sorts turn into a wax and other sorts just turn back into the same plastic.
Since I had not sorted it out yet...

And it was taking up too much space, so I took it to the local dump/landfill because last time they only charged me $5.
But this time they charged me $12.50. :-(
I think it was because the rear hatch was still open and they classed the car as a 'stationwagon' rather than a 'sedan'. Dam.

we are now generating with 2-3 people working daily more than 1000 lbs a week. no one willing to take it here in fla. currently we send 6-10 bags with our garbage and two to three truck loads a week to the local dump. now let me explain…. our local dump is also a furnace and recycle. now they love to get in plastics .. as it was explained because its made from petroleum it burns hot so they do not have to use extra fuel to fire the furnace. however they do charge me most of the time. Once we move we will be bailing and granulating.

As to the fellow burning it in the country… please STOP! it is very toxic the smoke given off. At least when gone thru my local incinerator they have scrubbers and ways to clean the stacks.

I think a well worded conversation may get that disposal fee dropped if they do indeed benefit.

Urban recycling may have some contacts in Florida that deal with plastic
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.
