looking for power supplier

As the title states I'm looking for someone within 50 miles of Scranton, pa for power supplies buying. The local guy don't want them and the local yards don't buy them. At this present time I'm guessing I have 400 lbs or better. Maybe a local guy that wants to break them down for winter work. Let me know. Thanks
If not I'm cutting the wire and throw them in the shred.

At the least the yard should buy them at mtr price. Did you pop one open and show him the inside?

I've tried that approach Brass, he just looked at me and said, "break em down" (or shred)

To the OP, 50 miles here would only add one town of any small size to the mix, I'd have to be looking well over a hundred to reach a sizeable increase in population. 130+ to a decent city(and that's just to the outer edges of it)

Thats crazy. At least open them grab a choke and the transformer then put it to shred

I don't let em go as shred though Brass. I've held on to em hoping a closer buyer will show, where a couple hundred pounds of em would pay for the trip, but even around Dallas the best prices there are hardly more than shred.

A local e-waste buyer should buy them. I breake mine down, power board(little better than low grade) #2 insulated wire and shred. Just my .02

I saw a good video on YouTube that showed you get more money cutting the cord and putting the rest in shred than if you break it down entirely. So I would go that route unless you are looking for more than scrap value on the power supplies.

I get .25 a lb and I keep the wiring.

but even around Dallas the best prices there are hardly more than shred

Easy used to do pretty good on his prices,did he go another direction.???

Don't beleave everything you see on you tube when it comes to e-waste,half of them don't know what thiere talking about. I break down all power supplies. .30# for the board, .34# for the fans, 1.00# for the wire, .34# for any transformers and .10# for the steel. If you don't have a buyer for the boards then take the copper and extruded al. I pay more than shred for them but thiere not worth shipping.

If the boards are green on both sides, there is at least one buyer on this board that pays close to 1.00 per pound for them. I am considering breaking them down once I get moved into my warehouse. I am not sure the time investment will be worth it, but it is worth a try.

I break mine down, but i'm about 70 miles away from you so anything i would offer would probably negate your time and fuel to me. I'm surprised that there isn't an e-waste buyer up in the wilkes/scranton area. It seems to me that PA is mostly small time guys who ship to a mid level buyer or big business which deals with the refineries directly.
