I stopped by the shop this afternoon to throw some trash away and discovered they had been cleaning out the warehouse again. The dumpster was about 3/4 full of old phone systems, new CAT 5e patch cords, facelpates and RJ-45 jacks, new Bogen and TAO microphones, digital telephones and boxes I haven't even looked in yet and telecom boards. I got my ladder out and did some serious dumpster diving. I actually climbed in the thing. Going back in the morning to finish up.

I got about 40 telecom boards, 2 power supplies and some kind of tape drive.

Desktop mics. I'm not sure if these will sell, but we will see.

I find cards like the one below occasionally. Looks like some modifications were made, maybe to fix a problem the card was having.

Quick question on those telecom boards

"I got about 40 telecom boards, 2 power supplies and some kind of tape drive."

Hey howdy. I'll post a new thread in a moment, but I wanted to ask about the left-hand stack of boards in this photo. I now own 15 to 20 of boards that look very much like these (mid 90s to early 00s, Avaya) of various types. Of course I'm going to google them, but are boards of this vintage ever worth re-selling or do you scrap them as a matter of course? I know, probably mostly scrap except for the special one or two, but I thought I'd ask...

I don't have photos of the boards yet, but I'll put up some other photos momentarily...

    Cheers,
    thebugguy

I believe those boards came from an Avaya Definity PBX. I only resell boards that I can test and know work. Most of them get scrapped.
