I will snag the little board off the back if it has one, I long ago stopped dismantling Laptop CD/DVD Roms though.
Just my preference to leave em be as those screws inside are even more small than the others in laptops.

I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
I brought home 2 phones last week that I had never scrapped before. The boards on both phones have a transformer that will be removed in order to get a better price.

What I wanted to do today was to dig through some phone systems and computers I brought home this week.
What I had to do was work on my wife's car. The radiator and water pump needed to be replaced so I've been buying parts this week to get ready for today. New belts and hoses and a few other things. It's going to take me a few days but I'll get it done. You have to remember, I a phone man and not a mechanic.
How much do you actually get paid for the phone boards? To me they don't seem worth it unless your getting 2.00$ a lb
Are you going through ewasted? What are you getting paid for the phone boards?
Things have been a little slow for a few months now but I actually needed the break. I've been working on cars and lawn mowers and other things around the house but the garage is getting full again.
I picked up a newer phone system last week and wanted to scrap it to see what kind of boards were inside.
Avaya IP Office 500
This is the main cabinet and has 4 slots for digital and analog phones and trunks.
This cabinet had 3 cards in it with gold fingers.
1st expansion is a 30 port digital module
2nd expansion is a 16 port digital module
3rd expansion is a 16 port analog module
The main thing I've noticed on any new phone system is that the components are much smaller and they're not as populated as the older stuff.
I'm in the process of sorting through several pallets of EnGenius phones and Motorola walkies. They've been in the warehouse at work for over a year now but nobody knew where they came from or who they belonged to. It took over a month to find out and they told me this week I could have them. The last time I had some EnGenius phones I was able to get cell phone prices for them. I took one of the walkies apart and they have some really nice looking boards in them.
There's 2 more pallets in the same warehouse with some really nice looking data equipment and circuits boards on them and nobody knows who they belong to so that's my next mission.

Motorola CLS 1110
I'm finally getting to these Motorola Walkies. I've been sending pics to some buyers and I'm waiting on replies now.
The boards aren't very big and it takes 25 to make a pound but I can get 60 taken apart in an hour which is acceptable to me.
look like cellphone boards. hopefully u get cellphone prices for them
Samsung Prostar 816
A friend of mine picked this up for me the other day. We installed a lot of them back in the 90's.
A nice mid-grade board, transformer, power board and some wire in less than 5 minutes.
Looks like my youngest daughter has been playing with my magnets again.

Oh my.. My kids do too. I can hardly get them interested in breaking down with me AT ALL.
But they both FIGHT over who gets to use the wand magnet to puck up screws off the floor!
HA!
what are you getting for these boards? I might be able to do a little better.
