Mike I've taken some smaller ones apart before but didn't get much copper out of them. I just weighed this one and it's 125 pounds and the center is filled with epoxy? Not sure but it would have to go in order to get to the copper. I might save it for a rainy day.
besides scrapping it for the copper, is there anything else that can be done with these toroidal transformers? I got one from a friend, it's not huge, but it looks like something I would want to incorporate into a DIY build instead of scrap it.
