Buying from yards is in my opinion the only way to go, Now maybe because of my personal background, but let me go in to this a litter further. I have to remember that there are a lot of part timers on the forum, now if you are a part timer and you are looking for some extra money every week doing scrap than its not for you, but if you are a full time scraper that's seasonied in the business it's the only way to go. Now if you are going to examine every unit it will not work out, I just got into the E-waste end of the business about a month ago and of course We are going to make mistakes simply because of our lack of knowlage but every mistake made is a lesson learned. Buying for yards is a give and take, now I am not talking about a yard that cherry picks the cream and leaves you the sh,,,,,t, some units have four sticks of ram and some have none, some are older units with heavy gold pins and good chips and some don't. Now when my truck comes back with five or six full pallets and is out for 90 minutes, opposed to being out for two or three hours and comes back with 20 pieces how much did those twenty pieces really cost you? The scrap metal business either e-scrap or steel is all the same, you got to be a player you must have the volumes, load gay lords not ups boxes, freight costs are a fraction of the cost shipping 1000 lbs opposed to 100 lbs box. Buying from yards is like playing base ball, you can not hit a home run every time you get up, As long as your win your share of the games you will make the play offs. Now I am sure I have a question about some e-scrap but can't remember it now Happy Scraping 1956
