I just started doing the silver contact thing after seeing Moose Scrapper from you tube's video where he had a little plastic vial of silver, said something about the copper "should come right off if you give it a bath in hot hydrochloric". I dont want to mess around with any of these chemicals, I want to find a place where I can take the contacts when I finally get my jar filled and melt it down. I got some of my roughly 30-40(as of now) contacts from light switches, some from brass connectors of copper wire, some from inside this old electrical junction box, and some from relays switches off low-grade boards. Including the very thin ones on those tiny black switches where you take your needle nose and rip off the top and tip the board over and get it to drop in the palm of your hand. Yes I know allot of this stuff is plated, burned off, or both, but I dont care because if it even has the smallest amount of silver on it I will take it. I am hoping to get it melted down and have a nice small brick of silver, could care less about the brass and copper, but I will take it and throw it in my yellow and number 1 piles respectivly. I want to know how I should go about this because this, along with those tantulum capacitors, I am hoping to make a small little fortune off of. Thanks in advance for any help and good luck scrapping!
