In dismantling some dishwashers I have found some mylar type ribbon that goes from the buttons on the front of the dishwasher to the electronics on the door. They have silver looking lines on the plastic going from one end to the other. They basically look just like the mylar sheets from PC keyboards. Does anyone know if these are silver bearing just like the mylar sheets?

Good question, I also have a couple from dishwashers and for now I'm keeping them with my keyboard mylars.

Seems interesting. If it's the same stuff i'm running into it with e-waste it might be worth putting it by for later. Some of it is imprinted with the name Sumitomo - G

Do most scrap yards pull printed circuit boards out of equip that is mostly metal?
