AS/400 Server?? Any knowledge?

I don't have a photo yet but its a AS/400 server. Guy on facebook wants $150 for it (I'm sure thats over scrap price) and is not sure if it still works. Any input? I'll try to get a photo later.

The going price to a larger e scrap co is about .24 per lb not sure if they would be interested in one server. I have stripped hundreds of them, IBM is THE co that knows how to do more with less so they generally have less scrap value then an HP, Dell,etc.

However some IBM products and parts are no longer produced but are still under Service contract. (as far as I know IBM dosen't sell their servers, they sell a service contract so all their product remains in their control) The fact that they no longer manufacture an item or it's parts but still maintain a service contract on them makes some parts valuable. even IBM uses used parts purchased from e recyclers. This makes some used IBM products worth more then others.

If you read the label on most servers it will say (paraphrased) made in China with new and USED components. Hope this helps.

P.S. I havent done an evaluation lately and when I do it is on all servers so IBM would be less scrap value then most others unless that service contract/resale parts thing kicks in.

The last year number was .42 per lb over all scrap value. down from a high of .56.

Does quite a bit, so for scrap im not interested and my computer guy who has me remove all his stuff said that the model it is really isnt any value in resale either
