A post today reminded me I am on the look out for the third screen in on projection TVs (the screens with the lines in it.) I need up to 10 of them . I will pay $5 ea. plus shipping by Walmart money transfer (same day), or check, money order or what ever. They must be un damaged no cracks or gouges.
At my age and condition I can no longer go out and pick up free TVs.
I'm working on a Sun powered smelter which if successful I will share with all of you. mcw

Any size requirements? I scrapped our old projection screen, but I can't remember if I saved that piece or not....

its amazing what we can do with stuff I remember when I was in high school making a solar oven but I may use this idea for a grill though since i seen the frame idea on there

Thanks for posting this you just inadvertently killed half my potential buys. I have already made some camp cookers for friends that allow them to cook a real meal at the camp site with out dragging the grill or smoker along and in much less time or mess.
I am trying to take this to the next level and make it a practical tool for refiners. I am aware of the difference between spot lenses and fractional lenses. I have obviously studied all those vids.
I can easily buy these lenses on E bay for the same price just thought I might ad some value to big screens for forum members who scrap them.
Sorry to sound pi**ed but I will get over it. I know you were just trying to be helpful.

what's the best way to ship these to you so they don't get broken?
I'm interested in helping your project because I'm also building an alternative energy business using lots of solar goodies.

If I were shipping them I'd go one of two ways. First possibility would be between two pieces of stiff cardboard. Not the lighter colored cardboard that can't hardly stand up under it's own weight. Marked in several places "DO NOT BEND" and maybe even throw in "PHOTOGRAPHY PRINTS" with continous tape around the edges. Second thought would be in a tube. However, I do not have a sheet of this material on hand to check it's flexibility. It would also depend on the diameter of the tube. Probably cost prohibitive but you could use a concrete form tube from Home Depot, etc. Just a couple of thoughts. Naturally, Olddude will have the last word in this matter.

Bleh..forgot to update.
Mine got broken by a neighborhood kid. He owned up to it earlier when I was trying to puzzle out what happened to them. LOL.
Sorry I can't help Olddude. I'll keep you in mind tho for any future ones tho if you'll need them.
On teh brightside..Kid is mowing my yard. LOL.

Oh an don't be so worried about losing sales. I know everyone will disagree with me, but most people are lazy an will still pay you for your product even if they know they can do it themselves for free or cheaper. Always count on the lazy factor. Notice..key word there is most.
