    Massive load please help

Hi I have an email from a customer but it's so much I don't have an outlet for it. I'm in Illinois by ohare airport. Looking for prices or anything that could be of help. At the moment I have 30,000 lbs. of blank boards all silver-soldered, 5,000 lbs. copper-soldered and 3,000 lbs. with gold etchings. I have 38 boxes of mixed large and dual socket server boards weighing 700 lbs. a box, 22 boxes of mixed small and metal socket boards with each gaylord weighing 750 lbs. each. We also have memory rams about 3,000 lbs. power supplies and hard drives, mixed pci and agp all gold fingered cards.

    What's my best options?
    Thanks so much,
    Jeff

Your best option is to sell it, that is what I would do.

Find one of our good buyers, pack up pallets, ask govern to ship them for you, cash check.

Jeff, I am not exactly sure what you are asking. We are located near the O'Hare area.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

I'd get pallets loaded up now. We have a "resident freight shipper" who can get you unbelievably good rates. There are a lot of good buyers in your area. Choose one, pallet the stuff, ship it out, kick back for a while, and get a really large check!

Sending you a PM, I might be able to help.

EDIT: Correction, I can't send you a PM because of how new your account is. Anyhow, I might be able to help with those server boards and memory(especially if its ddr3 memory as that's whats selling). There are buyers in the buyers section that could help with the other boards.

I'm trying to get some quotes from my friend with a logistics company, but there is so much volume that I can't put up enough cash. I'm almost wondering if I can just middleman the deal and make 10-20% off the top. Ship from their door directly to buyer. I just don't know how I'd approach the customer with that deal.

forum member Gorvin handles most of this forum's shipping for really good prices. If you're open to it or all else fails, I'd like to offer my consignment services. Started a thread about it here. I'm PM you this info instead of putting it all out in the open, but you're still a new member so I can't PM or email you or anything.

If you could front a little money, could you maybe ship a pallet or two and then use that money to ship more? I sent about 1800 pounds from Wyoming to Ohio for about $250. Since you're in the Midwest, it shouldn't be too bad on freight.

    Just a thought....

    Massive load please help

there are buyers near you that you could haul it yourself to. rent a 26 foot box truck, pick it up, drop if off. arrange for 15 or 30 day terms. when you get paid, you pay your customer. this is pretty simple business practices here.

so if my math is right you have about 100,000 lbs of material. You are new to e waste. You have not researched anything. And the contract is not signed? Does that sum it up?

Good suggestions above. An alternative is use one of the willing members who are near you to assist you in moving this material. I suggest you use a percentage which will motivate the person assisting you to get the best deal for both of you.

If this is a one time deal or don't have a place to store the material then a quick deal is best for you. If you have the time and storage then spend the time reading the old threads on the forum to educate yourself.

Make a couple more comments and you can start sending and receiving PM's. Mike

Deal with one of our advertising buyers , they all have reviews from previous customers and members . You can find a complete list of them here . http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/scrap-buyers-sellers/

I am one myself and have dealt with many as well . They all have reviews and you could be the next one . The box truck idea is gold if your close to one as well . In my area it's .99 a mile so that usually deters me but worth it if you don't have far to go and don't feel like making multiple trips . Good luck and enjoy your weekend .
