Not necessarily. Consider the situation of a shop owner. You only have a limited amount of useable space, so space is money. Now you have this huge pile of old parts that are absolutely worthless for anything only you are not allowed to toss them in the trash. You need to find a place to get rid of them so you look to find someplace to drop them when, lo and behold, someone comes in and offers you $20 for the whole pile. Easy decision I would say...
"Hey honey, don't worry about supper tonight, I am bringing home a pizza..."
