    Telecom Heaven

We have a large decommission project we are finishing up. We are getting around 100 cabinets like the ones below and they are full of sweet boards, a lot of which have Motorola and other gold capped chips!!

Do you remove any metal support brackets or the plastic tabs that are used to remove or seat the cards in their slots? Also do you leave or remove any eproms?

Man those are nice. They look like older Nortels but I'm not sure.

We remove the front face and the metal brackets from them. They are older Nortel cards. The older the better as far as I'm concerned!!

That's what I'm doing now with about 500 pounds of Tadiran cards. They are from the early 90's. I do like the Nortel cards more especially the cpu's that have the big ceramic processors on them.

Electronics recycling is necessary and it helps to give a competitive edge. There are many options that are available to recycle telecom equipments. Electronic waste is fastest growing in the world, it’s due to both the shortened lifespan of our telecom equipment.

You need to ensure that there are certifications and the recycler has to go through a lot of maintenance. One is R2 recycling, if your electronics recycler has this certification then the recycling would be done properly.
