I would p;ull the boards an send the rest as lt iron. Som epeople break down all the way, or just pull boards and motors.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

Yeah, 4 screws and pull the main board and the rest goes to shred.
I use to pull the motors but that was when I was getting .30 a lb for them.

Pull the boards. It's dull work, but it'll make you a few extra bucks for what really isn't a lot of effort.

I pull the main board, I also pull the green/brown, I pull the motor as well as the tray motor, snip the brass rod off, and of course snip out any other ribbon wire or motor feed wire. Rest to shred.
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Really depends on what you have lined up next. If you have something else lined up and need the space take em as is or break down enough to get the main board off, if you can take your time just maximize your profit and break em down completely

Are the laser mechinisms worth anything? I expect the Goldy looking bits are actually Gold? (plated)
I break them all the way down. Light sheetmetal, rubber bands, motor, laser mech, slinding travel bars, circuitboard, Brass.
To get the most out of it and save space.

They stack nicely in milk crates. When I have at least 8 full crates, I'll make a fun day out of it, chatting with friends. They like to time me.
With my new drill (happy birthday to me -) my personal best is 48 seconds for complete tear down, minus the laser eye.
It helps to separate them by screw heads beforehand.
I pull the gold bits from the lasers as a hobby during our L O N G winters - and the cast AL adds up pretty quickly. I hate the plastic ones.
Green boards go to my buyer - the rest to the scrapyard.
Except, of course, for the patented Sirscrapsalot "OMG IT'S GOLD" bucket.

i probably will break down...it might be a long winter....i used to break down the computer power supply even but i just recently took a load down whole...a 134 lbs @.16 cents a pound...21$ and change

My stance is personally: I just cannot toss the "carcass" into the shred pile where I know I will get .05 for it, when I have .15/lb motors still in it, $1.00 per lb brass in it, and .20 per lb brown/green board in it. But that is just me personally. Everyone is free to do it their own way.

Yeah I'm with the above poster. Is it worth my time, IDK, but I hate to see it go in the shred pile. I'm stacking em up for something to do this winter, along with power supplies.
