We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

Agreed- in case you forget something, it's a good plan to have a "catch-all". My flyer states that I don't accept biohazardous waste, medical waste, or X-Ray machines, among other things. I've never seen an X-Ray machine, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

CRTs are really a sticking point with the DEQ/EPA. If you don't handle them, the red tape is not nearly as restrictive.

We do a few every year with most being in the spring. Almost all of ours are working directly with township offices. They do all the advertising and provide dumpsters, tire recycling, and similar services all in one. We do charge them the uhaul rental fee and this year will definitely be charging a nominal fee to offset lower prices. We gave them the choice of paying to recycle tv if we took them or using the dumpster if they chose not to pay.

Upstate area....although I will not be doing this event. I got a lengthy email back from some department out of Columbia stating holding an event to collect E-Waste is not allowed without notifying his office and the local county collection sites. I needed to forward my name and other information like what I was going to do with anything I collected, who would be recycling it, their certification etc. Whether all this was actually accurate or not, it was enough to make me decide not to do it. I am still glad I asked ahead of time. better than possibly be reported later on.
