Here and there displaying some vintage CPU has been mentioned. Usually with a remark concerning building a shadow box, frame, etc.. Put your hammer away. There's a much easier way to display some CPU's. Not only is it easier but they will be displayed much better than any shadow box ever could. I'm speaking of Riker Mounts. They come in many sizes and are cheap. Especially when compared to the time and materials needed for a shadow box. You can find them on Ebay for about $10 for a 12" x 16". Personally I pick mine up at antique malls. Most all good size antique malls will have a dealer who sells them, most likely cheaper than those found on Ebay. So, what is a Riker mount? Here's a photo of one disassembled.
Four pins through the sides hold it all together. They do not come with a provision for wall hanging. I just use small screws, washers & nuts to attach the wire to hang it from.
You can purchase many different types of compartmentalized inserts. I believe that the white fiber that comes standard allows more flexibility.They work great for small Tobacco collectibles.
Or native american stone artifacts.
A collection of Tootsietoy die cast cars.
And not to be forgotten CPU's, etc.
