    current scrap server buying price

Found some server equipment today at local scrap yard inside in a gaylord bin. I offered to buy it as I know that they don't deal in ewaste. They will buy boards at .04/lb. Don't know who they sell them to but that doesn't matter. Scale guy called the boss and accepted my offer of .20/lb. I know those blades are heavy steel and like one board in them plus a lot of power supplies. I think at current pricing and with some better than scrap sales I should do ok. For the people who do a lot of server stuff, what are your thoughts on my pricing? It will take me some time to tear it all down and get the steel back to the same yard for a total weight. Shredder is at .02/lb. but I should get "clean tin" for it at .04/lb. Thanks all.

U paid a fair price perhaps a little high but when trying to buy from a yard you must offer a fair price to get anything...........Some servers I would gladly pay .20/lb for and others not so much.......Do they still have the HD's........If not re-usable nice boards and heavy aluminum

No drives in there but I did see some server type drives in the other bin with random comp stuff. I will buy that stuff next week. Yeah, I thought I might've been on the high side but just doing it on the fly I think I'll do ok. Haven't gone through it all as it's been snowing and crappy out today but I grabbed a Tripp lite net director console and brought it in before it got snowed on. Now just gotta research and find someone to sell it to. Thanks for the input.

for learning purposes .20/lb is an ok price.....but try a little lower price as you can always go up but it is harder to go down

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

A lot depends on what you got. More than scrap value sales on servers can be hit and miss- I know a scrapper who specializes in vintage servers. If you can sell one, you'll come out well. If not, I still think you'll make a little. I can't say how much without knowing what you purchased.
