Starting to get back into it.

Hey all, after a pretty long hiatus, I'm hoping to get back into the ewaste game once again.

Decided to take time off to focus on my career and accomplish a few things. Just recently obtained my mechanics license, which releaved alot of pressure and freed up alot of time. Time I'll hopefully be able to spend of scrapping.

Before I start actively searching and obtaining ewaste again, I have to find a reliable buyer in my area for my boards. Not so easy in small town Canada. The only place that buys boards told me today they have 2 grades. Bulk E waste and motherboards... Not so good for my 100+ lbs telecom Iv been hoarding. I have considered shipping south, but I'm pretty far north and shipping would just cost too much. The search continues!
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

EDI is right in your back yard. However they will not be interested in small quantities.

I ship to them every few months for the last 4 years. Usually ship 3-4,000 lbs at a time of the higher grade materials (motherboards, finger cards, laptops, CPU, RAM, etc).

I think if you can gather up maybe 1,000 lbs or so, they might be interested.

GEEP is a huge e waste company in Barrie that you should talk to if you are not into shipping to the states. They have a location here in Michigan that I deal with pretty regularly. I do not sell any boards to them, but they have decent prices on most items.

Contacted EDI the other day. They buy gold and jewelry in small amounts from the public, they have many ads in the classified, but they don't buy boards in small amounts. Iv contacted GEEP and a place called Greengo. Greengo had the two grades, low grade and mobo. GEEP if I recall correctly didn't want to deal in small amounts either. I'll try contacting them again see if anythings changed!

There is one more place in Barrie, called ECS. They used to have a location here in the Vancouver area, and they used to buy ewaste here. Their head office is in Barrie. One of my friends used to sell them boards here at their Vancouver location. This was a few years ago, don't know if they still buy or not, but you might want to look into it. If you google "ECS Barrie" their website should come up.
