What to do with computers?

I got two computer towers this evening and tore them apart i have everything, and just dont know what they are. what are the parts that are worth money? where is the gold, and what do I do with all the pieces? I just have never scrapped a computer and would like an e scrapper to help me out, thanks guys.

Im wondering the same exact thing. I just tore down my first computer tower a few weeks ago and have no clue what any of it is or what to do with it lol

The big money, is in the ram, processor, and the PCI(accessory) boards. But it takes several PC's to get even enough to sell to a refiner for a decent profit. The motherboards do have some value, but not as high as the ram.

I get a pile of PC's before I bother taking them all apart. Once you're good at it, you can strip them down in a few minutes. But group those parts like scrapping anything else, and find yourself a refiner. I keep a pile of cases, power supplies and the wires before I head to the scrap yard with them. Those wires are all steel, don't bother trying to get any copper.

its not steal they are a mix metals. Cut them off an put with your copper wire. I will give you $0.35 to $0.40 cents a pound.

I buy computer stuff small and large lots. The pci cards are worth the same as motherboard prices at 3.50 a pound as long as the fingers are not cut off. I Will buy the memory and the CPUs. The memory I am paying at $10.00 a pound an the CPUs can range from $5 to as much as $50 a pound!!

Just like a scrap yard, every buyer has different standards. When I sell PCI's with the fingers cut off, they are simply high grade boards, along with hard drive boards (which don't have gold fingers) or ect. You seem to be a much pickier buyer, but that let's you pay better prices.

Why do you pay 2.50 when the fingers are cut off? What are your standards for PCI boards? Do you require the steel sheeting to be removed from the sides? Maybe it will be worth it for me to keep the fingers on from now on.
