    Any way to move industrial controls and get close to what they are worth?

    Does anyone have contacts for industrial HVAC controls? I have sent off about 10 emails so I'm waiting for those to see if they pan out, but thought someone here might have a contact they would be willing to share. I was given most of a system that had been removed from a local factory and I can find the parts listed for $150-1500 each depending on the part. I did get one reply earlier today, offering $750 for the lot, but I would like to get as much as possible out of them. I'm figuring on the retail/used market they are selling for a total of about $7200 or more.

    Pretty much everything is Barber-Colman/Siebe branded, working when it was pulled out of the factory.

    You have to have them tested, calibrated and certified at an official cal-lab .
    The other issue is - what exactly do you have ?! I have mostly dealt with industrial controls and instrumentation, and re-sellability is all based on what you have, the name brand, the condition, and the calibration certs !

    ( Example ) If you have a certified Rosemont differential pressure transmitter with Hart, I would have no issues paying $600 per unit .... on the other hand if you had an uncertifyed 'no name', I would not pay more than scrap.

    The fact that you DID get a response and offer for $750 is encouraging. Time to haggle. Put your negotiating skills to the test. I realize you don't want to short yourself, but money in hand is much more powerful for helping to make more, IMO.

    Of course it depends on the situation that I can not be aware of but taking the money and moving on to the next project can make sense. Please let us know how it works out.

    It looks like the main control systems are for 'Smoke control system' but can also be used for other system controls. The Network 8000 boxes are remote satellite stations that I think allow you to hook up multiple controls which then get patched back to the main system. Here is a list of the equipment:

    GCM-86110 INVENSYS / BARBER COLMAN (Siebe) qty 3
    GCM-ECH-001 INVENSYS / BARBER COLMAN (Siebe) qty 3
    MN-FLO3T INVENSYS / BARBER COLMAN (Siebe) Approx qty 20
    Barber-Colman Network 8000 Global Control Satellite (Siebe) Approx qty 16

    Ebay does have some sales of these items, but everyone lists them as bench tested and warrantied - since I don't know how I would even test them that is why I'm trying to sell as a lot.

    The offer is pretty good considering they are untested pulls. If you are capable of bench testing it goes a long ways otherwise like what has already been said, best to put cash in hand, move on to the next project.
