    AMD CPU trays

Anybody know where you can find trays for AMD CPUs? Looking for larger trays, not clamshells.

E-green-tek lists them as being for 486 cpus. Do you know if they are the same as the new CPUs?

Thank you. I'll check them out. Found some on E-bay. but shipping is horrible unless you buy a lot.

1,000 trays per case. 12 cpus per tray. That would probably last me a few generations.

I get roughly that same ratio, maybe closer to 15-1. But do enough volume that it made sense to get an AMD case when i ordered i series, xeon and RAM packaging from them. Expect the case will last a solid two years

Think the case I bought had 50 or 80 trays

Come to think of it the box is pretty good sized. Might be closer to 100 trays, 4 stacks of 25 sounds about right for the box size.

Dont get a lot, but wanted to safely ship the ones I do, instead of getting scrap value. Still have about 300 desktops to get thru, so. Based on what I've already done, I think I'd have 30 to 40, including the ones already broke down. Was hoping to be able to find someplace selling lots of 25. Looks like E-greentek has lots of 100 and Pacific sun, lots of 1,000.

Talked to both Steve and Mike on the phone there when I last ordered. Was a phone order so maybe they have options not listed. Or maybe they changed.

looking at the website, you can't order on it. Have to send in some information. Maybe I can ask for a lesser amount. I'll let you know how I make out.

We purchase laptop computers and many components for greater than scrap value. We offer a shipping reimbursement program.replies

Most people who send me AMD CPUs will just stick them into foam so the pins are "locked" into position, and then bubble wrap the whole thing so it doesn't fall out. Works pretty well for smaller lots. For 30-40 CPUs, that might be more trouble than it would be to just get the trays though
