Value of Crimms

I am attending an auction later on this week and there are 2 lots with a combined weight of 400lbs of CRIMMS, looks like RAM without the chips (unable to upload an image at this stage).... my question is what classification do they come under in terms of e-waste, I would guess mid/low boards but would like some clarification so I can work my costings.

I would think the only value in those would be the gold fingers. So I would assume one of the buyers here could give you a good value on that.

I would think that the only scrap value here would be the gold edge fingers themselves. The board/stick itself has no circuitry. You'd have to calculate how many lbs of fingers you'd end up with once they are trimmed off - the rest would be valueless waste. Conservatively, I would guess something like a 20-1 ratio...... but I could be way off. Even at 40-1, you'd end up with 10lbs of fingers - makes them worth more than raw mid/low grade boards.

They are usually considered motherboard grade through most processors but that could differ depending on the company.

The design of many common Rambus memory controllers dictated that memory modules be installed in sets of two. Any remaining open memory slots must be filled with continuity RIMMs (CRIMMs.) These sticks provide no extra memory, and only served to propagate the signal to termination resistors on the motherboard instead of providing a dead end where signals would reflect. CRIMMs appear physically similar to regular RIMMs, except they lack integrated circuits.
