The last time I received monitors by pallet there was 36 of them per pallet. It really depends on how they are stacked.
no offense taken...we all know when that sense of humor of yours gets primed there's no stopping it ! lol thanks for responding...
younger folks might not be familiar with the phrase "a pig in a poke"...not real sure myself but I knew it had something to do with a bad deal.
no, ilyaz...he just answered e-mail. He has 20 and some may be 15", he says. I wrote back and offered him $50 for the lot, including all chords !
My last monitor that i took apart only came to about 6 bucks in scrap. Picked it up at a yard sale on a deal with some books for my wife.
I considered this one on the high side because it had not just a plastic case but an internal steel/alum shell.
The real question is for me anyways. Do i leave all the copper and items on the board and sell as is, or rip everything off then try and sell it.
I wouldn't pay extra $5 bucks for two cords, they aren't worth that kind of money IMO. I'd also only pay maybe a buck a piece.
I dont think its $5.00 for each one...Now..the Black dell crt screens 17inch or bigger WORKING can bring from $5.00 to $8.00 each. Don't know why it HAS to be the black dell ones but thats what they want. I save them up and some guy comes around time to time to buy them. If I have to many..I just send them along the scrap lines.
Cord end is worth around $1.00 to $1.50 a pound based on who is buying (I need to get a price check on this item....) The cord it self is data cord and is around one pound some are less others alittle more. Data cords are selling for $1.35 avg and $1.60 high (high price if you have half ton or more)
Thanks Easy,
Ill make sure i save up my cords.
I had 3 monitors this weekend. Two had 6ft cords one had a 15 foot cord. I thought it was kind of bizarre as that's the longest cord I've ever seen in 10 years of IT.
I'd be charging them cause you have to pick them up and disposing of the tube can be a pain. Anymore, if there is more stuff(good scrap) to go with a monitor/tv I'll take it free, but if it's tv's/monitors alone they get charged.
We pull the transformers off and any large alum. heatsinks and sell the rest as low grade boards. They are only worth on average $ .10-.15 a lb.The real question is for me anyways. Do i leave all the copper and items on the board and sell as is, or rip everything off then try and sell it.

I didn't know this. I have only ever seen silver colored ends that I assume are aluminum or coated brass. Of course, not knowing about this I never really looked that closely at them either. I'm still learning e-scrap and thought I knew everything to save from the towers and monitors but didnt' know about the cord ends.
You would be surprised on what the naked eye can see when examining things more closely.
Last week when I was at the scrap yard, I almost threw off $40 of cast aluminum, and some motors that at first didnt look to be motors.
That is why I always care my portable magnet on a key chain. I inspect everything, and now will be breaking things down 100% versus what I was doing before.
