    Refiner issue

Hello new to the forum here. I just recently started e scraping the broken parts that we get daily through our computer repair store. I sent 75 pounds of motherboards 2 pounds cpus 2.5 pounds ram 3.5 punds pci/pciexpress/agp card to cashforelectronicsusa.com. They were supposed to give me 82 percent of the amount of gold, silver, copper in the form of a check after the material was refined at the current spot price. I got a check for $70 dollars. Im not an experts but $70? They would not tell me the amount of gold silver or copper that was in my batch. Has anyone here been in this situation before? And what if anything can I do about it? Also has any here dealt with cashforelectronicscrapusa I hope there was some kind of mistake on there end and they will remedy the situation. I wont know until they open monday.

    Thank you,
    conrad

They have no idea what is your assay, as they will not sample 80 lb and assay it. I doubt they even have this capability at all...

I find it very hard to believe they are the final refiner.. most likely just a middle man.

70$ is a joke... look at the prices going on here on the board for different prices and demand it from them or have them return your boards if possible.

I have beyond reasonable doubt they didn't run your material. For that low of volume, there is no way for them to recover their costs if they are running an assay and melt on the lot. It was farmed out or they just ballparked a price they believed to be fair... sucks i know. If you really want to move material to refiners, its a long and painful learning curve. We have lost a lot of money having assays on homgenous material come back up to 50% lower than a lot before it. Unless you have the volume, cash flow and understanding of the scrap you are much better off finding someone to sell the material to outright.

i think people have done this... but we are transparent with pricing... i list it an update it on this website's buy/sell page. I am debating if we should change names for that reason.

Here is a discussion on that way back and my opinion then and I still have it, I can see where someone could be confused one for the other. I wouldn't want my company to be in the same category as the other one,,,

Just use ewasted he is the fairest and most honest. People just dont understand that if you dont have a truck load (thats 20 to 40 thousand pounds you cant go to the refiner yourself) They look at your lowest grade board and base your pay off that. Yes selling to a middle man is good unless you buy in great volume. IF you dont wont to get hung out to dry use EWASTED he is more than fair than anyone i have talked to or have sold too. HE POST HIS PRICES SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR GETTING FOR YOUR SCRAP!!!! (AND I'VE SOLD HIM OVER 20,000 POUNDS IN FOUR LOADS) Thats my two cents

Check them out on the BBB website...they are con artists...if you check out their address on google maps...it's in a residential area...
I sent them a little over 10,000lbs of shredded hard drives with the boards back in April...They said the value didn't even cover shipping. (shipping was a little over $500)
I ended up having to hire a collections company to get it back (I wanted the quoted price they had given me of $1.50/lbs or even half of that) but ended up settling for my product back. (I did have to pay return shipping)
It was a hard lesson...but now I know to check everyone out! Good luck...(& if you want that collection companies name PM me...within a week of handing it over I had my product back)

The good news is you found this place and you only lost a few hundred dollars. I am not being flip I don't want to lose money either but others have lost more.

Please take the time to do a lot of reading of the ewaste posts while you build up a new load. Pay close attention to how things have changed even in just a years of being on this forum its surprising.

Do what the others have reccomended by reading our buyers posts, they included current prices and the experiences of members with them. I am certain if one of our buyers does something wrong and doesn't correct it you will know about. Mike.

I agree ewasted is fair and honist. But there are other buyers on here that are just as good. Relectrocycle was awesome when I shipped to them. Barrenrealms007 was awesome when I shipped him a very large box of CPU's. Working a deal with ROKrecycling right now and threw our emails he has been very honist on what I can expect from my shipment. I would also hope the people who have sold to me would think the same of myself.

I've been quiet long enough but this is the perfect place for this. I have used a "local" buyer a few times in the past and so a month ago I didn't have enough product to drive all the way to Cleveland. I used this "local" buyer one more time and he wrote me a check. The check bounced after I was told that there was money in the company account. I had to wait almost 2 weeks for the bank to send me my proof of the bounced check, so the next day I made a trip back to the buyer. I get there and the original guy is not there, the other 2 partners tell me that they had forced him to quit as he wasn't paying anyone (bills or employees). I show them the rubber check and they tell me they are not responsible as the 3rd guy had wrote the check. This company refused to reimburse me. I went to see the "fired" owner and he also refused to cover the check so I left his house and went right to the county prosecutor.

It has been over a month now but the county prosecutor has informed me that they do have my money but I have to go back down there again (3rd time) just to get my money. The 2 partners still running the company showed their true colors by refusing to cover the bad check, so no way would I ever use them again. I'm going to cash the prosecutors check at their local bank before I leave town, I'm just not trusting anyone right now, they will have to earn it. You older members should know who I'm talking about so we'll leave it at that, but I'm not worried about being sued. You cannot be sued for telling the truth, and I have all the paperwork to back it up.

The really good news is we have some outstanding buyers here on the forum. Included in that list is PartTimeScrapper whom I am happy to have sold to. As I stated before we have an effective system of reporting on the buyers. I have dealt with ewasted on many occasions and have had nothing but good to say about his service that doesn't mean the others buyers don't bring great service and prices as well, Mike.

You should be able to get your merchandise back and thats exactly what I would do. One situation I read about on how their scam worked said they give you a low ball offer and if you take it they win. If you call to complain about it and they double the offer they still win. You sent them well over $300 worth of stuff that another buyer on the forum here would pay it. If they can get that same stuff for $140 they win big time. I've said it before researching that company is what lead me to this site and I have never been happier.

I do this small time just to pay off credit cards faster and to have some mad money and I've pulled in well over $1000 and probably have that same amount sitting in my shed to be processed.
