What would the following boards be graded? Lots of chips/gold fingers = high grade? or are some of them too sparse to be considered high?

i believe that depends on the final processor (end of the line) for each individual buyer... those appear to be motherboard grade/high grade at first glance, but you would need your individual buyer to give you a heads up on those because each refiner/processor has subtle differences in pricing and grading.
lets see some what some of the buyers on this forum have to say!

To answer your question, these would fall into the spectrum of high grade boards.

I would push for better than high grade price on these boards.
High gold content in fingers and all the gold caps on those Eproms!
Nice one

While we are on the subject, I've encountered a few different boards that I think might count for high grade but I don't really know and would like feedback on these. Figured it would help others that also encounter them:
1: Board out of some sort of drive
2: Wireless card board from laptop (lots of gold plated pins and stuff)
3: Boards out of USB hubs
4: USB board that attaches to motherboard
5: Card slot board that attaches to motherboard via gold fingers
Thanks for any input.

something like this you are more likely to get the "best" price from a hobbyist, backyard refinery, or something to that effect.
We preprocess and grade the boards by our own standards internally based on trends in materials we have run over the last 7 years... we continue to evolve this process as we encounter new boards. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, so far we win more than we lose. By this I don't mean taking "advantage" of anyone, it means we are getting our money's worth on our gambles.
We can buy these boards, and they are high grade, but torker you need to realize they ALL are not very high quality. And the amount you have of the really good stuff, we wouldn't even realize that value at the refinery. The gold amount in there is "negligible" when moving 10,000 lbs at a time.
We work with some smaller outfits as well but i dont know too many guys that are rounding up hundreds of pounds of those boards these days.
^^^ True,
What I should have added was better to sell on Ebay as its a small qty, or to the gold recovery hobbyist
Yes, there is a downside to moving it to the hobbyists, my concerns are EH&S. Just my view though, to each their own.
We don't move anything to hobbyists, primarily for EH&S concerns... this is just our take on it, to each their own. I met a guy years back that had done gold recovery on memory modules. He was in his 50's and looked in his 80's
if those gold eproms are socketed and removable they are worth approx 125.00/lb if they are soldered to the board the board is worth approx 8 dollars a pound. The remaining boards with out gold eproms or with eproms removed would probably fall under telecom at around 5.00 per pound. These are prices i would get for them but may vary from buyer to buyer. If you dont seperate higher grades like this your buyer may buy at lower grade. Always seperate.
bjybjy - those should all qualify for motherboard grade with no problem
Hello all this is my first official question by the way my name is Deno and i am new you willl find my introduction in the introduce yourself section. I figured i would ask my question here since it's simular and I see pictures. I deal with boards also and i am trying to maximize profits of course seeing as though i purchase alot of my material. I deal with alot of crt monitors which i know the boards are low grade my first question is. Is it more profitable to leave all metals on the board copper etc. or what.
Next ? is what is the average for laptop motherboards do they fall under desktop range. And finally do hard drive boards pci bards riser baords etc. are the all in with motherboards or seperated. The closest yard to me doest deal with boards I have two may 20miles away that i can deal with however I wanna know how to seperate before i make the haul and thanks for any help.
Every yards is different. You would have to call those yards and see how they want them seperated and what they pay for each. ALl though a quick mapquest showed me your outside of dallas. You may want to sell to easyrecycle. His website is www.easyrecycle.com. He is just north of dallas I believe.
Thanks for the advise I will give him another try as I emailed a few pics as asked but never got a reponse. I ended up getting .07lb for
140 lowgrade because the treat it as tin at the yard I spoke of. I was reading thru previous posts and I'm also sitting on about 150 crt cases and it stated he may be able to broker the glass and plastic. I wouldn't mind the drive if its more of a 1 stop deal will pretty much all or most of my material. I have access to as many crt monitors as i can handle because i buy them. By me being new to the forum I can't figure out how to post the pics I'm pretty much at a stand still because i need to get rid of all the material that I have now before i can buy some more. However thanks for the info I will shoot another email with pics and go from there.
