To me it is sort of akin to paying someone to change the oil in your car... You can buy the oil yourself a lot cheaper, but if you'd rather not get your hands dirty then paying someone else to do it can be worth the extra cost.
Probably 75-90% of what they'll do is basic preventative stuff. Dropping a few roach stations around the place, putting a few sticky cards down to monitor for pests, and if you have mice putting a few mouse trap stations out. At this time of year I'd argue that almost anything they do outside your place for insects is basically pointless. Not many pests are going to be outside moving in (ever, really) and basically none this time of year with the cold weather. Mice could be a different issue, but you really aren't going to get those out of the blue from computers.
If it were me I'd buy $50 or so in different mice bait stations, a half dozen sticky cards and a couple tubes of MaxForce and do it myself.
