I have the opportunity to start purchasing Shredded Hard drives at a decent quantity, maybe around 100 lbs a week. These guys just shred the hd's and then sell it to some scrap company. The guy in the office wouldn't tell me who buys them but told me that their current buyer is paying around $6.60 per lb. I'm thinking I can beat this and still easily come out on top?
what would you pay for for shredded HD's per lb?
I got the price correction at $0.60 lb, if your up for another oppinion I'll give you mine.
If your getting the logic boards that had the IC's and gold pins along with the shred I think there's a chance you'll come out smelling like a rose.
Again theres more to be had besides the logic boards, if they are using a dust collection system the money is in the bag so to speak. Somehow I don't think the people your dealing with are that sophisticated., more than likely using a crude shredder.
Forget about platinum discs there is much too little to worry your self about, focus in the crushed IC's and gold pins, if they're included if not pass on this deal as suggested by other members.
Forward only if the logic boards are included in the shred, thank fully precious metals are much heavier than copper or aluminum making separation a relatively simple task.
With your newly built shaker table, motion, gravity and water do the work for you. If you need the plans to build a shaker just email me and their in the mail.
Now to process your precious metals that you have recovered from the shred I suggest that you consider membership at the gold forum where you will learn what is needed to refine your metals.
No logic boards in the shred, PASS.
