    CD/DVD ROM Boards

    Merry Christmas All,

I have a question that I cant seem to find the answer to by searching, if its been answered before I couldnt find it. My question is what are these boards graded at, would they be the same as motherboards or hard drive boards.
I see that some of the buyers on here pay different for hard drive boards but no-one lists the cd/dvd boards.

    Thanks all, and Merry Christmas

    CD/DVD boards get motherboard price.

Floppy drive boards are low grade but snap off the gold connector before it goes in the bucket.

TIP: I also like to pull the motors from the back of the drives or from under the board. 90% of the time there is a long brass worm gear that's easily snapped off. Motor goes in with copper breakage.

Not all escrap buyers take the CD rom boards as moterboard price anymore. At least one major buyer has a seperate grade "peripheral" that is worth about 2/3 the price of motherboards. I wouldn't be surprised to see this trend spread.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to keep them in a separate bin from now on..

My guess is that all buyers are eventually going to go with the seperated boards....The rush to get the material is over and now the companies are looking out for their bottom line a bit more.

The rush to get the material is over <<

why would there be a rush and why would a buyer/processor ever quit buying material?
