I would be willing to sell any of the components......they have the motherboards, gold fingers, hard drive and cd drive I believe it is.....I'm somewhat new to doing the computers however I have probably scrapped 1000's of tvs and monitors and 10's of thousands of pounds of steel.....I am learning as I go I have done three so far and they are time consuming but any advice would be helpful....I have a local guy that wants to buy the motherboards etc....but I will have to dismantle these monsters and see what he offers....And no sorry I have no way to test and how do I tell if they have sata headers??

Mike, a SATA hard drive has two thin connectors on it - the actual connector is in an L shape. IDE drives have 40 little pins and use ribbon cable to connect the drive to the motherboard.

Yeah the emacs mike has gotten have the 40gb IDE drives. If your calling the gold fingers from those emacs I believe your mistakin. those are ram chips. they should look like this. The emacs didnt have gold finger cards in them everything was built into motherboard.

i didn't think emacs had sata headers onboard. some of the imacs and most of the mini macs had/have sata. so many varieties. i like the fruit flavors concept.

Just a quick update....I have sold some components out of these computers for $63 and I have a truck load of scrap metal and aluminum as well as all the copper yokes and all the copper wire from these units....Pretty good for my original $33 investment

I sold it to a local guy who is probably shipping his out but he was paying more than the yard I found 15 miles away on motherboards....Of course I could have done better but I don't Ebay or ship much of anything....I am very hands on and strictly deal with cash and have been succesful to this point

To get around a password protected mac, follow the instructions on here step-by-step:

    http://www.hackmac.org/hacks/how-to-...rator-account/

This has worked for all Apple comps. I have tried it on. Basically, you trick the computer into thinking you just loaded new software and it lets you setup a new account. Once you create that account, you can clear teh pasword on the old accounts to make them accessable, or just delete them.

those imacs should have some decent parts. depending on the specs, you may be better off trying to retail them. or sell them as parts units.
