I have over a ton of e tape CARTRIDGES. They were used to back up computer main frames. Are they worth anything as escrap or recycle material. Thanks for any help

If I am understanding you, the back side should be about 1/8 inch aluminum. You could smash the plastic and magnetic tape off and scrap the aluminum . There may be a value for the plastic in large quantities. Hope that helps.

Tcfootball, it is similar to that. It is 1/2 in ribbon. I did not know if the ribbon had any value.

To state the obvious.... look up the value on ebay and see if there is still a market for them.. if you are allowed to sell them. If they have classified info on them you could get in trouble for selling them.... I have sold lots of new, sealed tapes... even older ones.

I have sold some sealed NOS tapes on ebay as well. Was shocked to be honest but to me it seemed like the smaller the storage capacity....the better they sold but that could have been just me.
