    UGG Apples!

Had a call this morning for a pickup from a large computer repair shop....The lady said that there were about 75 towers...Great, always love to hear those kinds of numbers.

Sent my guy up there to get the deal taken care of. Well it was not until he got back that I realized that all of the towers were Apple....Each and everyone was an Apple g3 or g5 tower.

I may have mentioned that I really dislike Apple. Because of the flu we have been down to just 3 people so I have been on the floor helping with the tear down. Today was not a great day to be there. Apple towers are tricky and less than simple to tear down.

I have never mastered the art of tearing down one of these machines. But I am sure that we are going to be seeing a lot more of them....My partner just got us the contract to handle all the e-scrap from a big Apple store....Hopefully my people will be back to work tomorrow or the next day so I don't have to deal with those darn things.

Yea G5 towers bring around $200 to $300 working down where I am at.....

I find that apples are easy to brake down as well.

Sadly we agreed to not resell any parts from the Apples. Despite the fact that a heat sink or liquid cooling system could not hold any kind of personal information, the store owner had a bit of paranoia....I wish they were easy for me to tear down....A couple of my employees love doing the Apples....I just can't get a handle on them. Oh well, it makes it easier being the one in charge...I have people for that LOL

Interested to know how he got the contract, that's awesome! I'm trying to get my foot in the door at a huge copier warehouse.

Start with a letter outlining what your company does and how you work. Fill the letter with things about how your company can help theirs. Once you have sent the letter give it a week and then give them a call. At that point you should be able to reach someone and at least get some kind of an answer. Don't forget to put an email address and a website if you have on on the letter. Many of the IT people I have dealt with over the years would rather use email than talking on the phone.
