I was overly eagerly breaking down scrap computers in my garage, and an old, broken PS2 got thrown into the mix.
I then researched after most of it was out with the garbage.
They sell for 20 bucks or more on Ebay! **** it.
Most of you probably knew this.

Mistakes will happen and in the process they can be very valuable. I think I have learned more from my mistakes than I have my successes over the past several years. I attribute this to the fact that when a mistake happens I spend more time sittinig down and thinking about it.

I put a working an non working one with one controller in a rummage sale last summer for $25, thinking I was asking too much...the used stores would only give me $15-$18 for the good one, when they were re-selling them for $40...and they said they couldn't take it anyway due to massive overstock (and I had 4 stores tell me this.) So, like I said, $25 for both thinking it was too much, figuring some mexican would talk me down to 15 or 20 so they could get it for their kids....nope, sold in the first 10 minutes. A couple months ago one of my regulars told me to swing by his cousins house, there was some goodies outside waiting for me...in the pile was a PS2 that looked like it had been sitting outside for awhile, so I didn't even bother messing around with it, just scrapped it.

I have a playstation 3 with no cords , was told it was frozen and a disk was stuck , I want to scrap it just to see whats inside!!

The would be a mistake on the money side. I too would like to tear into a ps3. I have scraped ps1/2 and xbox/xbox360's. I think they are a lower grade mother board and some have hard drives. I even broke down game cube consoles.Originally Posted by submarinepainter

My son has a broken Gamecube and PS2 that half works. I might sell the PS2 and break that Gamecube down. Mike anything good in the Gamecube?
I may find out soon I sent a couple in with the other misc. ewaste I sent in last week. I would guess its a kind of lower grade mother board. Not sure its worth more than the shipping cost. You have a couple ewaste buyers in In. and Ohio so driving to one is very possible. If you bring it to them I'm sure they will take the time to answer questions and educate you if you bring examples with you.
My shipping costs are starting to make me unhappy. I may need to save up my ewaste so I can use the cheaper pallet sized box to ship in. That would cut my shipping to $0 .30/b about. Keep reading the old posts. Mike.

The last Xbox 360 I got as scrap sold for parts on eBay for $20 not including shipping. Listed it as parts only RROD and included the power brick.

I have 16 XBOX 360 boards.
I'm going to try to eBay them first.
I'm sure they'll sell.
Curious as to what grades different consoles are though.
Ive taken apart quite a few in my time.
As a kid anyway.
I just wanted to see what they looked like inside.

Thanks for the info - I have one in bad shape - disc drive got stuck and I tried to repair it, but I think I did more harm than good. It is ruined. But I have been meaning to list it on eBay as-is. Terrible game console - I've never had something so poorly manufactured (I'm on my 4th, but only paid for 2 of them), as to completely stop working just out of warranty.
