    Possible eload

Can some of the experienced escrap guys/girls tell me if this is worth it. I know hard drives are not really a big deal, as most will keep them, but wondering since they took out the ram too.

Company is getting rid of all our old computers. CRT monitors, PC's (RAM and Hard drives removed) Copier/Scanner printers. Available are 2 full pallets, about 6' tall, shrink wrapped and ready to go. Must come pick up. We will load. Email if interested, these need to go to free up space in our warehouse.

If's free you can't go wrong if you have venues to sale this stuff....My yard takes those printers as scrap and the monitors are money if you know what your doing with them....Pc's still have motherboards which you can get 2-3 dollars a pound for....If you don't want can I have LOL

Well, I know the motherboards, heat sinks, etc are all worth something, but didn't know if the ram would be a big number in value or not.

I do agree that free is always good, and I wasn't complaining really (apologies if it seemed like that).

Will let you guys know if I get it.

Judging by the listing, there is a good chance there are more monitors than anything else. It doesnt take too many monitors to fill a pallet up! George it sounds like you are well diversified in your service offerings and capabilities. If I were you, I would pass on this.

    Thanks for your input ewasted.

I do plan to ask them exactly how many CRT's are included in the package.

I know there is money in monitors, but not a lot, so I definitely want it to be worth the trip.

Yeah, that is what I would be doing with it. Breaking them down, and selling the material to some of the ewaste buyers on here when I have shipments worth shipping.

It is true, money doesn't grow on trees... you also shouldn't jump over a dollar for a penny. George is well versed and diversified. The time and money involved in picking up two pallets aren't worth his time because of something called opportunity cost - what else he could be doing with that time.

If there are 1 or 2 monitors then I'd do the deal, otherwise forget about it.

There is NO such thing as "free" money.

Or you could cherry pick the 'puters and other good stuff and sell a pallet load of monitors to another scrapper, one way to recoup some of your expense(gas-labor).

never heard that saying before, but like it. Will have to keep that in mind.

I also agree, that I have to factor in multiple things to determine if it is worth the drive and labor to remove.

Which is why, I will make the decision only after they inform me of an exact amount of each item. At least on the monitors.

That is true too. However, I am not sure if selling just monitors would be profitable in any way. Granted you get copper, aluminum, steel, and wire out of them, but might not be worth it to anyone to pay anything for them.

If I took the whole load, I would scrap everything, also depending on the monitor, if I can easily sell them, that is another option as well.

to be honest its probably already gone, when i get a call to pick something up im paying for im on the road in minutes to go get it, if its free im probably running some redlights. if that was in my area it would already be in my storage container while everyone was wondering if it was worth it. their even gonna load it for you this is way to easy to pass up IF its still there.
