    New Cheap Marketing Technique

The most common threads viewed on craigslist are the free ads. I often check 5 times a day. Here's my idea. I have some cheap printers that are not really worth parting (although, I have found that larger and high-end printers are full of goodies) and plan on placing them in the free section, however, along with the free printer I plan on placing my “i buy old computers and electronics add”. I could probably do 2-3 of these a month. Take a loss on the printers for a little marketing no? Thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea. You could post some electronics for sale ads too. I often look at other people's ads if I'm selling a similar item.

You can try this, but they will be flagged very quickly. I have posted different ads in various sections, with zero response. They are not being flagged, just no calls.

flagged, flagged, flagged, and did I mention flagged?

I tried that too, and they wouldn't be up for an hour!

Even though you wouldn't be charging anyone, they still don't like advertisements!

It might still be worth it if you have the free time. I post off and on in several sections on CL and just landed two cars full of computer and network gear yesterday off an add that was up for less than half an hour. Sometimes right place right time works out. It only takes one person seeing it...

I just post the ad, when it gets flagged I log into my account, copy and paste it into a new Ad. Sometimes it gets flagged again..sometimes it doesn't.
