Mother board with gold fingers?

Again, new to this... but I have never seen a mother board with gold fingers...? what in the world is this grade?!

it's an old hp vectra board, plugs into a backplane inside the computer. google that number on it, kzm-6120

I googled it and got prices all over the place and read a little about it. Only found 2 for sale on ebay, not sure if that means it is hard to come by, unwanted, or sells out fast?

I pulled out the backplane too and just have them both in my pile getting ready to ship out next week for e-waste...

It's a P2/P3 motherboard. With the Gold Fingers I'd say it's probably a Motherboard #1 Grade.

You could try checking the completed listings box on ebay. Don't know how long it goes back, but it might give you an idea of the sales history.

Sorry for bringing this old thread up... wanted to finish reading all the old thread before i start asking question but I couldn't find anymore information pertaining to this...

Does that black thing, the finger is pointing at, refer to as pentium 3 slot 1 CPU? (Well, I got that name from google so I might be wrong).

Does leaving it on the board devalue the board or should we took it out and sell it separately? If we take it out, do we remove that thick plastic covering it and sell the board or should we sell it as it is? What will the board be graded at?

I have tons of these on the telecom boards I have. Thanks for the info. Do you know what the base metal is of the little balls? Copper?

As for your questions

1) Yes, it is a slot processor.

2) Yes, you take it off.

3) No, it does not de-value the board removing it.

4) Yes, you take it apart and remove the plastic and aluminum heat sink.

You sell these separate with your processors.

No thats not. A mobo with fingers usually has no slots. The fingers makes up for not having slots.

now a mobo with all it's slots and a large finger is usually server or telcom grade.
