I've been tearing apart monitors lately. I don't have the equipment to remove the solder, so I wind up using a screwdriver, channel locks, and/or diagonal pliers to remove the goodies. The result is often a mangled circuit board.
They are low grade, right? If they were high grade, they certainly aren't now.
I'm thinking of throwing them away rather than trying to sell them. They get so beaten up that I'd feel guilty trying to get cash out of them. Would tossing them be the right thing to do?
The only other thing that crosses my mind is to play dumb and take them in to the yard on one of my trips just to see what they say.
As an aside, I'm getting ready to make my first trip to the yard in a long time. I don't have enough copper to take in but I need to get my steel it out of the way. Probably won't be much.
