Printers

Okay, can anyone tell me what grade of a board is in printers? I have 30 printers (possibly 40 for all I know).



If the boards aren't anything more than low grade, I am just going to take out all the cartridges, and call it a day, and take the printers to either the scrap yard, or to the local escrap buyer here.

Thanks KCS for the info. That is what I was thinking, but wanted to be sure. To much time to waste for just 2 to 6 cents/lb if it was low grade.

Apologies parrothead. Just have a lot going on, so I figured this would be the quickest way. Like I just stated above, I figured they would have medium to high grade boards, but wanted to be sure first. Cannot afford to waste time on peanuts.

Usually just a low grade if you don't see any card slots on it anywhere, unless your talking about the big office printers; their in a whole different category.

I have tried to pick a few of them up from Cl, but never any responses yet.

I know the BIG ones have goodies in it, thanks to (I believe) dumpster-dee talking about them. If not her, it was one of the female scrappers on here.

I just wasnt sure about the small printers.

Thanks for the info Auburnewaste. I have one that does have a fax to it, so I will be sure to check that out.

Just do yourself a favor..Take the boards and run. My old man breaks them all the way down to the brackets, wastes a TON of time.

Pull the boards and shred pile the rest....

I will be doing the boards and cartridges as staples gives $2 store credit for each one.

That is just at one store. We have, will not sure, but i know it is several within a reasonable distance. It is crazy in Northern Virginia, I tell ya!

Interesting side note on printers and ink cartridges. Cost me $35 for one black ink and one color ink total before taxes. Cost me $29 for a brand new printer with the ink cartridges in it. Again before taxes. This is at our local Wal-Mart.

I use the printers I get that are still in working condition until the ink is gone then it's off to the crusher.

New Printers are sold with "Starter cartridges" that are only half ful or less.

Also the newer printers take cartridges that hold LESS ink than older printers do.

The older HP printers Carts hold (Are sold with) double the ink of the newest ones, and the only difference is the CHIP to tell the printer how much ink exists..its' a guess at best...a High dollar shell game.
