Hello all, i've been reading the forum for about a month now, there is a ton of great information here i just have a few more, please. What are No Pin processors? are they the other one under the second alum heatsink beside the cpu? also are satellite receviers worth pulling the boards? thanks everyone!
No pin cpu's are like regular cpu's but no pins, instead they have small points where the pins would be. Many of the p4 machines have them. When you see one you will know it. And it is not the one under the "other" Al heat sink.
Are satellite receivers worth pulling apart, I would say yes for me they are. My time is cheap.

Here's couple photo's. The cpu on the left is a pinless cpu, Mike.
Do they pull right off from the motorboard or how exacly do you remove cpus?
Yes, remove the heat sink and on some lift the small lever and pull out the cpu. All the lap tops I've seen so far the cpu is soldered in and no you don't remove them. Seriously take the time to read lots of the old threads, you will profit from it. Mike.

thanks again, i made a deal with the local yard i get all the electronics strip for the boards and give the the non ferrous and ferrous back i keep all boards, ram,finger cards,cpus all goodies i just have no clue how to grade the boards i dont keep the brown ones.

You're doing great! You read and looked, took notes, and made a good deal. Glad you did all thatboardsort has a good page on boards, giving descriptions and photos. You don't want to go the route I took with them tho, and prepay shipping and wait for a check, that route takes forever! I did however appreciate their pricing, and definitions

ive been pulling boards and electronics for about 2 weeks now. heres the brakdown: 46lbs. motherboards, 52lbs. telecomm boards, 7lbs. RAM,16lbs. finger cards, 2lbs HDD boards ,3lbs mixed cpus(need 2 be sorted) 4lbs cell phones i think thats it

Depending on where your located, the load is almost big enough to drive it to a buyer.

does anyone know what grade the boards are from the satellite receivers? low or high grade please?

Not sure exactly what they call them but I'm just not sure of what level, maybe a mid-grade. This buy lists them as peripheral;The Peripheral board category is for boards that do not qualify for motherboard grade, but are better than midgrade.
This includes but is not limited to such boards as DVD/CD-ROM ( CD/DVD board description), Printer boards, higher quality telephone board and cable/dvr board.
